Whole process lasted around 2 weeks from application to offer (Uncommon).
- Online application:
Filled out online application for Software Engineering graduate scheme and was contacted by an Accenture HR recruiter who invited me to sit online assessments. Many colleagues commented that they didn't hear from a recruiter for MONTHS after completing the application – it was more like a few days for me as I was applying closer to the next graduate intake date.
- Online assessments
Assessments were primarily based on situational judgement while learning a lot about what Accenture does. Received approval of passing this stage and invited to assessment centre within 12 hours.
- Assessment Centre
Booked a slot and attended assessment centre at the Accenture London offices the following week. Event was comprised of multiple stages, both group and individual exercises included and lasted around 4 hours. Had to prepare a 10 minute talk in advance on a technology from their yearly tech trends article. Activities included: a Virtual Reality problem solving activity (super fun), note taking from a simulated client call/project meeting, an event planning team challenge with one other candidate from the day, and a one to one interview on my chosen technology topic amongst more general interview questions.
- Technical interview
Telephone interview a couple of days later with an Accenture manager. I was entering the Software Development stream, so was quizzed on the SDLC, Agile, Human centred design, programming experience and why I was passionate about technology.
- Offer received
The same HR recruiter that reached out in the beginning, and called in to say Hi on the assessment centre day, called a few hours after the technical interview to confirm I was being offered a job. Outlined all the benefits, including pay, bonus and 2 week training trip to India with other new joiners (which was fantastic).
Online assessments – Went quite well as far as I could tell, mostly provided a good intro to what Accenture is about.
Assessment centre – Awesome experience, particularly the VR, felt like I did very well here.
Technical interview – Didn't feel great about this, genuinely thought I had ruined my chances here.
Offer received – Recruiter confirmed they weren't looking for 'perfect' software developers, but instead those that had the potential to become great. *Phew*
