At PetSmart, we strive to create an environment where every associate feels like they truly belong. Each of our associates deserves to know they matter and that they belong here. During Belonging Week and every day of the year, we're proud to celebrate all of the things that make each of us unique—as they are what make our company great. When we embrace and appreciate a wide range of people and perspectives, we create an environment where associates can do their best work and pet parents have an unmatched customer experience. We are stronger together!
One of our core values is standing #unitedtogether, and it is with that in mind we celebrate our 3rd annual Belonging Week. Over the next 7 days, we’ll hear from business leaders, learn from our associate resource groups and speak with associates about what #belonging at PetSmart means to them. Be sure to follow PetSmart and #lifeatpetsmart for many educational moments that we all can learn and grow from.

As communities across the United States continue to feel the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know more than ever we must continue to help support pet families in need. That's why in partnership with PetSmart Charities and DoorDash, United Way is launching the Pets Eat Too (PET) pilot program. This new PET pilot will provide more than 3,600 deliveries in four communities, helping pet owners keep their pets healthy and safe. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota PET pilot location launched in April and in less than a month, 100 families have already pre-registered for pet food delivery. The response is already one of immense gratitude! One pet owner scheduled for delivery took to United Way's Facebook page commenting, "Thank you very much for helping us out in struggling times." “At PetSmart Charities, we believe that helping pets in need means being there for the people who love them. That’s why we’re committed to partnering with organizations who provide pet food and supplies alongside other basic resources to support the family,” says Aimee Gilbreath, MBA, President of PetS
Our PetSmart associates only have eyes for pets. 😍 (+ a passion for helping fellow associates and pet parents!) This kind of love can be felt throughout our stores, salons, PetsHotels, and DCs.❤️🐾

What a story! We’re grateful to have amazing associates like Emily who go above and beyond everyday to make sure that ALL pet parents can live better lives with their pets. ❤️ Meet Emily. She’s a part-time cashier in Ontario, Canada. She’s become familiar with a regular customer who is hearing impaired and relies on reading lips to communicate with others. When the pandemic hit and mask mandates went into place, covering the faces of everyone in sight, Emily noticed the pet parent could no longer read lips and would have a hard time communicating within the store. The pet parent began communicating by typing on her phone and showing Emily what she needed to say. But, Emily had a better idea. Emily went home and taught herself three different phrases to help make the pet parent’s trip to PetSmart a little better. She learned, “What is your phone number?” “Would you like a bag?” and “Have a nice day.” When the pet parent was checking out the following week, Emily used her new sign language phrases and the pet parent was elated. Emily saw her whole face light up and she received t
