I will atart off by saying sephora is a amazing company to work for. Dont apply if you dont wear full face makeup and you have no Knowledge of the products. I applied online and i didn't hear from them until 3 months in it took that long!! My stores here aren't always hiring so its a normal thing. They called me from the short hills location and offered me an interview she ask me why i wanted to work at sephora (through the phone) i answered and then she set a date for it. My interview was a group interview and it was a sephora job fair. I applied for two locations menlo amd short hills in NJ. A day before my interview/job fair the other location at menlo park mall called me and offered me a interview at the same place but at a different time!!! I ofcourse accepted. I guess they liked my resume. Anyways the day of the interview came and i did my makeup uper nice full face of makeup! Fake eye lashes and all. I walked in and there were 7 of us i was the only one with a full face of makeup the rest of the girls had lipstick or just eyeliner on. I felt good i noticed the managers looked at my makeup and liked how i presented myself. Believe it or not they notice about how you look and what you wear!!! It's sephora not walmart. So they ask me the regular questions and asked me about the broken bottle question. It was a great experience i was very nervous but i prayed and it went well. They ask me about my previous job experience? What was a beauty insider? What should they hire me? What was a great customer experience you have witnessed? Basic questions but they can vary from store every manager is different. I was being interviewed by 3 managers from different store. After the interview was done I thanked them for there time and went in the mall to get ready for my second interview for my other store. Its was at the same place and i was worried i might ruin my chances but i decided to go in and talk to them and explain if it was okay for me to do the 2 different stire interviews. They were so nice and understanding they seem really happy and impressed. The menlo park mall manager ask me to do a one on one with her and after that i gave her my resume. i told her i lived closer to that store and she talked to the other manager i had applied to her store too and apperantly she had hired me before but she said it was okay. That same day i got an email when i got home after they contacted my references telling me i got the job!!!

I was first contacted over the phone for a quick phone screen. During the phone call, I was asked about my previous job experiences, responsibilities, and why I left my previous job. I was also asked about why I chose Sephora. They then asked me to come in for an interview. When I came in for the in-person interview, I sat and spoke with the manager who asked me typical interview questions.

Easy interview process, though I’d recommend going in to speak with the manager first (which is generally good practice for all retail jobs). You’ll have a phone interview & and in-person interview & then you’ll find out if you’ve gotten the job. Good luck!
