      Entretien

Referral from friend/ex-colleague which lead to an online application through their portal. That happened on a Monday night and on Tuesday morning, had an email from the recruiter asking to speak within the next day or two. There are 3 stages: Stage 1: Recruiter screeen - The recruiter explains the role and lets you know what the interview process is like - You speak about yourself (max 2-3 mins) - On the spot, the recruiter lets you know about the next round Once the call is done, she'll send you topics for the next interview and then also ask for dates you're free. When you reply, your interview for stage 2 is set. Stage 2: Technical Round - A seasoned architect from Salesforce will join the call, they'll either: 1- run through a list of questions they have (curated list) OR 2 - have a conversation around your experience This is totally at the discretion of the individual, there's no set pattern Once this is done, within 24 hours, you get an email from the recruiter letting you konw that you've progressed onto the next round. Stage 3: Panel - You prepare a 20 mins presentation focusing on the problem, value add, approach, outcomes and how you measure them. Also look to spend a little time on the architecture (given you're applying for an architect role) - The panel will introduce themselves, followed by an introduction of yourself (5-10 mins in total) - You present your case study to the panel, they may or may not interrupt you (again, at their discretion) - 25 mins - Once the presentation is done, they'll ask questions about the case study, looking for problem solving approach and how you handle yourself in front of executives (this is the key thing they're looking for through out) across both tech and bigger strategic/program point of view - You end with 10-15 min of questions you have for them Within 24 hours, you'll get a response on how you went

This was the second time i went through the proces and I have to say, this is a very inefficiënt proces. The first round is a first check by the recruiter. The second and third round was a consulting interview and the fourth round is the panel interview. Oh yeah and if your lucky you would also have a fifth round.. it took about 1,5 month. What i don’t like about the proces, is the inconsistency, and no transparancy. E.g. If they would like you to succeed in the proces, they will assign you someone from the team who would walk you through the expectations of the panel interview. In my case it didn’t happen. Even after a request by mail. “ no answer” from the hiring manager or recruiter and no explanation why in my case it was not possible. If you have a good round you will have a immediately a call back from the recruiter. If you have a bad round, they will threat you like garbage (You will hear nothing anymore) Not living up to the values they pretend to maintain.

The process took several months (due to holidays and lockdowns). I interviewed online and at Salesforce offices. All usual steps: HR screening , then 1:1 tech, another tech talk with soft skills, manager interview and panel session with case presentation (can be online or on-site - I suggest on doing it in person for better communication and feedback). I cannot tell that things were hard. At some point it was not clear what exactly is expected, but there were no "tricky" questions or something not work related. I got assistance and guidance from recruiting team. Everything was friendly and polite.
