      Entretien

I applied for a SEM role for which I got an automated rejection within 1 week only for a recruiter to reach out for the same role 2 months later (tells a lot about resume screening) The recruiter was supportive and gave all the information. There was a coding assessment followed by the hiring manager interview. I passed the coding assessment but failed the interview. The hiring manager was 7 minutes late to the interview which he did not acknowledge and jump started the interview. He started with disclaimer that he wants the answers to be more technical and not around people or stakeholders. "I don't care if you have worked with a CPO" and "I am going interrupt when I have questions " in a very smug way. While I was describing my last experience, he kept on interrupting not after natural pauses but mid sentence. His questions were unrelated to any project I was describing but they were pointy like "What did you do here?" "How did you move the needle". Well, I did everything. Also, he was unclear when I asked about the details of the role and upcoming challenges for the year. After the interview, I was sure that I will be rejected and if not, I will withdraw my candidacy. I got a rejection email after 2 days. I was questioning myself if I was rambling and was not clear in describing my project which led to that experience, but after taking several interviews after that where panelists were respectful and attentive and after landing a lot better offer, I can confidently say the hiring manager was blatantly unprofessional and I dodged a bullet there.
