I met an advisor that suggested I look at Edward Jones. I applied online and received a call within 48 hours. I had two phone interviews, then met w/ a local advisor for an in person interview. Edward Jones performed a background check while I completed a business plan (that was me writing out thought out answers to questions they had asked and was straight forward) with the help of a local advisor. Those that don't have industry experience will complete a few hour simulation of what a day in the life of a Financial Advisor could be like (and performance is assessed by Edward Jones). They offered a salary based on my earnings history (since you will have to submit a recent W-2). Based on my acceptance, I completed a drug test (urine and blood) and I was employed w/ Edward Jones within 2 months of starting the process.

Interview process first consists of numerous dinner events, all very laid back where you get to learn more about the company and the advisors in the region, and they get to learn more about you. If you keep getting invited back to dinners, consider it progress in the interview process. Honestly, the best, most effective interview process.

it's a series of interviews with people in the office then a full-day of simulating the role of the advisor where you're receiving calls from clients and team mates as well as receiving emails. As a career-changer, this was the part of the interview phase where I realized Edward Jones wasn't the right start to my career as a financial advisor and ended up going somewhere that invested in my growth rather than a "sink or swim" type of place.
