Great, I had 0 issues, and the process ran smoothly. I have completed the interview process, but still waiting on a response. Overall, I felt I could've done a little better, but now is the wait game.

Very easy and clear expectations of what the job was entailed. Hiring manager was very pleasant to work with and friendly. Would love an opportunity to engage with this company on future projects.

Overall process took about 45 days. The first step was a recording a 15 minute video of myself answer questions that appeared on the screen. I was then told that I was selected to move on to the next step ~30 days later. The recruiter was not very responsive to emails and I was then told by someone else in the group to provide a time and date for an interview. I appreciated that but would have preferred a phone screen with someone first (as is the norm) so that I may ask any questions I had. When I finally was able to speak to the recruiter who initially contacted me, the conversation did not go well. They could not answer the questions I had - which were general in nature - and when I asked about the compensation, I was given a range of 26k between the low end and high end. That's not a range, that's two different roles. Then they had the audacity to ask why I was looking to leave my current employment if my salary was at the high end of what they were willing to pay. I said "well I didn't know that until now..." and proceeded to provide my reasons for leaving. What recruiter would ask a candidate this question? It's unprofessional.

The interview process takes a couple of months to complete. It involves having introductory interviews, background screenings, and ultimately a dry run where you spend a day acting as a financial advisor with fake clients calling and emailing you. It is a long and tedious process but is worth the effort should you get an offer.

I was referred by an FA at Edward Jones. Got a link to apply online. Within a week, received the link to complete an video interview. I got it on Friday, and I had 48-72 hours to complete it. It was uncomfortable. I definitely preferred a in-person or phone interview. There were 5 questions. The first one you get multiple times to re-record it. The rest of them you will get 3 chance to record it. One question you have to type your answer. I just submitted the video interview. I have not got an offer yet.

Over the phone and over video. It was an interview. Questions were asked and then I answered them. The interviewer seemed interested in knowing why I had applied for the job, to which I replied "I'm applying for this job because I need money, and that is why people apply for jobs". I feel that they understood my point. Also, I am only writing this review because Glassdoor is making me write a review in order for me to view the other reviews from other people, and I have to write a 30 word minimum in order to continue with this submission. I really don't know if I have 30 words in yet, let's hope so. I will try and click on the continue button now and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Incredibly slow and drawn out process. Based on this, I did not feel EJ was a place I wanted to be at or develop a career at. 7 weeks since application before being invited to interview. And get this - The Modern Hire video interview invite came the same day the career website supposedly rejected my application for the role I applied for! How does that happen? As a result, my enthusiasm for the applied role had waned and confidence in their HR operations was low. If this is how badly they recruit, imagine the rest of the company...

Interview has you pretend to call out and sell funds or try and set appointments. They value old fashioned commission based advisor mindset where sales is key. You don’t need a finance background.

If you are selected to interview, the first interview is an automated one where you video record your answers and submit it back to the recruiter. At first I thought it would be no big deal, but once I started recording I realized just how hard it was to just talk to a computer with the intent of making a great impression. Now, I think the initial automated process is a very poor way of screening candidates. I have no doubt that Edward Jones is losing out on potentially great candidates who just may not be comfortable with that automated interview. About a week after the interview, I was notified that I was not selected to move forward. Rehearse your introduction providing your professional background before hand. You can re-record this, but it is the only question I was allowed to re-record.
