An acquaintance of mine was recently hired for a Financial Advisor position with Edward Jones and encouraged me to apply. He forwarded my name to a recruiter and I received an invitation to apply. After submitting the initial application, (which explained in depth the 9 or 10-step interview process as well as what to expect during training) I received an email to schedule a phone screen interview. This was a somewhat informal interview which basically seeks more depth and information about your resume, followed by a few behavioral/personality questions mostly pertaining to past work experience. After the phone screen interview I received a call to inform me that I was selected to continue on in the interview process and the recruiter explained that I would be getting an email for an official application and background check consent. This application asks for some specific details about your work history over the past ten years, as well as any education. After completing this step, I was informed via email that I was then able to schedule a face-to-face interview with an experienced F.A., which I'll have sometime next week. If I am selected to proceed, the next step would be to complete a business plan, which I believe is done online through a template provided by Edward Jones, followed by another phone interview, and then a 4-hour simulation of "a day in the life" of a Financial Advisor. So far this interview process has been a positive experience. The recruiter and financial advisors I've met with have all been very helpful, positive, and candid. As of now, the best advice I could give would to just be take this interview process one step at a time and be yourself. Oh, and definitely look through the experiences of others here on Glassdoor.
