It typically begins with an initial recruiter screening, followed by a case interview that evaluates problem-solving and SQL proficiency. Candidates then progress to a technical interview, which includes SQL queries, Python or R-based data analysis, and potentially a product/business analytics case. The final stage often involves a "Power Day," consisting of multiple back-to-back interviews covering behavioral questions, technical case studies, and business impact assessments. Throughout the process, Capital One emphasizes data-driven thinking, communication skills, and the ability to derive insights from complex datasets. Strong preparation in SQL, data visualization, and structured problem-solving is key to success.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
The Capital One Data Analyst interview process includes a mix of behavioral, technical, and case study questions designed to assess problem-solving, SQL proficiency, and business acumen. Candidates can expect SQL queries related to data manipulation, scenario-based data analysis problems, and questions on handling missing data or detecting trends. The case interviews often focus on real-world business problems, such as analyzing customer spending trends or identifying factors driving churn. Behavioral questions assess communication and collaboration skills, particularly in explaining complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

I completed the Capital One power day interview process on May 14 and I'm happy to share my experience for anyone preparing.
The process consisted of four rounds. Round 1 was a case interview centered around a colored curtains scenario — a classic business problem-solving exercise. Round 2 was a behavioral interview, which was straightforward and conversational. The interviewer even repeated his question twice to make sure I fully understood it before answering, which I really appreciated. Round 3 was another case interview, this time focused on a wheat harvesting scenario. Round 4 was a data challenge presentation where I had to analyze and present findings.
I'm pleased to say I cleared all four rounds. What stood out most was how supportive and professional every interviewer was — at no point did anyone try to pressure me or test my nerves unnecessarily. The atmosphere felt collaborative rather than adversarial. The repeated question in Round 2 was a small but meaningful gesture that showed genuine care for the candidate experience.
If you're preparing, expect structured case interviews, behavioral questions, and a data/analytical component. Go in with confidence — the team is helpful and wants you to do well.

Difficult. Multistage. Just too cumbersome and tough. It was supposed to be an entry level role but lowkey I believe they wanted an expert. First stage was application then test and another test in with the recruiter where you’re given a question to solve for some minutes. Didn’t make it to the other stages. Twice!
