This is my first, and I hope the last review of an interview process. It was absolutely wthe worst experience, so I felt compelled to post the review. I applied on Capital One wesbite for the Software Engineering Manager position in New York. The recruiter called me to discuss the process. She sent me a hackerank test -- the test was to write a web service in Go lang so it passes the included unit tests, and to add at least one new test case. The test was rather easy. I submitted the test, and never heard back. Sent two emails...nothing. I assume I failed the test, but to have spent around 4 hours on the test and not get ANY response was frustrating to say the least. Clearly, the recruiter I was working was very unprofessional.

The process is lengthy and I can appreciate that they're not just Leetcode tech interviews but are designed to better determine skills from the candidate. However, I was applying for a people manager position and was recruited for a backend team, despite my resume clearly identifying my experience on frontend teams in the past. Regardless, I was advised to proceed since I had management experience. I made it through the power day and my feedback was that while my management skills were strong, I lacked experience in the backend systems they were looking at. Understood, I just wish that had been communicated all around in a better way or to have that interview count towards a frontend team as well.
