To celebrate Cinco de Mayo last month, Mi Gente hosted a salsa tasting event in Bitty & Beau’s Café! While members of the employee resource group shared the history of Cinco de Mayo, employees tasted and ranked their favorite salsas. Towards the end of the event, employees were quizzed on knowledge learned, and the winner received a jar of the highest ranked salsa!
Last week, our AAPI Alliance Employee Resource Group hosted a sushi rolling (and eating) event! Parents of one of our employees taught a small class on how to roll your own sushi using traditional Vietnamese ingredients and popular ingredients in the U.S. This class was both educational and delicious, and we raised about $200 towards Stop AAPI Hate, a nonprofit that aims to advance equity and justice by dismantling systemic racism!
Every year, the nCino Veterans Network Employee Resource Group hosts the Murph Challenge to honor fallen Navy Seal Lt. Michael Murphy and other members of the armed services who have given their lives in service. The challenge consists of two mile long runs, 100 pull-ups, 200 pushups and 300 squats, and is a great way for employees to honor the sacrifices of service members and bring their A-game together!
Yesterday we attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the nCino Hunger Solution Center! Nearly 67,000 people are living with food insecurity in the Wilmington area, and this food bank will help to increase the distribution of fresh, healthy food to the community.
To kick off Asian Heritage Month, employees participated in a beach sweep hosted by our Employee Resource Group, the AAPI Alliance. Our employees were joined by friends from UNCW’s ASA group for a beautiful morning cleaning up Wrightsville Beach.
SUP is back! Every Friday during the summer, nCino employees can start their day on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, relaxing and having fun with their colleagues. Whether you are local to our Wilmington HQ, or you’re visiting from one of our global offices, we hope you enjoy summer SUP sessions!
Every year Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity hosts Women Build, an event that brings women from the community together to help female homebuyers overcome barriers to homeownership. In anticipation of the event, which will take place later in May, volunteers from nCino’s Women nTech Employee Resource Group gathered with other volunteer teams to network, raise donations and tie dye t-shirts to wear during the event.
Employees from our EMEA team recently held a Tough Mudder fundraiser benefiting The Brain Tumor Charity, an organization that provides support and aid to people affected by brain tumors or brain cancer. The 10 participants had fun getting muddy in this 10 Km obstacle course and raised over £800 for this amazing organization.
On Saturday, the City of Wilmington hosted its annual service event, Work on Wilmington, where volunteers from the entire city come together to give back to the community. Employees from our Employee Resource Group Mi Gente participated in one of the 30 volunteer sites. Employees and volunteers from TD Bank’s local branch worked together to install 17 smoke detectors for eight families with the Red Cross' Sound the Alarm-Save a Life initiative.
We had a great time volunteering at the Novant Health Community Garden! The garden grows seasonal produce year-round for the community to enjoy. This month, our team planted lots of spring seedlings, including collards, kale and herbs, and made summer vegetable trays with bell peppers and squash!
