Making history on the East Coast 🚢 ZIM Sammy Ofer recently made its first call at the Virginia International Gateway in the Port of Virginia, marking a key milestone as the first ZIM LNG-powered vessel to call the East Coast. Nissim Yochai, President of ZIM USA, Sanjay Sopakar, Captain of Sammy Ofer, and Stephen Edwards, Executive Director of the Port of Virginia were among those in attendance at the ceremony. Thank you, The Port of Virginia, for the warm welcome and for supporting our mission to sail towards a greener, more sustainable tomorrow!
"Happy Earth Day" isn't a catchphrase 🌍 We wish this to express our gratitude and appreciation for the planet we call home, as well as to recognize the importance of caring for it. Earth Day serves as a reminder that we are all responsible for protecting and preserving the environment. It is an opportunity to raise environmental awareness, promote sustainable practices, and encourage individuals and organizations to take action to reduce their environmental impact. At ZIM, we are entirely committed to implementing ongoing sustainable practices across our operations. With the addition of our new LNG vessels to our fleet, we will be able to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by up to 25% ✔️ So, by wishing "Happy Earth Day," we are also encouraging our global community to come together and address the challenges that our planet is facing, in order to create a cleaner future for next generations, just as we strive to do with our partners.
