This week on The Nordy Pod, we’re taking a deep dive into an integral part of our business – the Rack. After starting out in the basement of our downtown Seattle store, Nordstrom Rack has grown to more than 250 stores across the country (plus a website and app), where we offer great brands at great prices to our customers. To tell the story about the history behind our off-price division, Pete talks to Sue Tabor, an early leader of Rack, who was instrumental in expanding our brand and product offering. Sue grew Rack sales by 1,200% during her tenure and helped shape it into the cornerstone of our business that it is today. Then, Pete talks to Gemma Lionello, the current president of Nordstrom Rack, who’s been with our company for over 36 years. Gemma tells Pete about her background, our strategy for the Rack and the work that goes into opening a new store.
