The first step was a phone call three months after I applied for the job. It was a typical screening, questions about previous experience, motivation etc., done by the team lead and a senior manager (no recruiter involved). Then they had me wait for another month for an invitation to the actual interview in Berlin. This time a recruiter was also present (along with the very same team lead and senior manager) but the only topic which was really interesting to her, was how I organize my "writing process" but nobody was interested in samples of my writing. Mostly behavioural questions, I don't recall a single question checking the actual skills or problem solving. I got an impression that the whole meeting was improvised and that all participants were interviewing somebody for he first time in their live.
