J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Wayfair
Entretien
Sent off my CV and got invited to a telephone interview. I didn’t have as much experience as was in the job posting but the experience I did have was in a market leading company.
When the interviewer called me she was asking me really basic questions as if she hadn’t even looked at my CV before the call.
She asked me about my current role which was explained very well in my CV and again the questions she was asking made me feel like the interviewer had just picked up the CV and was asking questions aloud. Interviewer made noises like she wasn’t really listening and then cut across me and said that I don’t have enough experience. I appreciate the honesty but felt really annoyed as I didn’t try hide that and why even ask me for an interview then?
Interviewer then proceeded to ask me questions about the company I currently work for and what the salary and benefits are which was strange as I already was told I wasn’t getting the job so why do you care?
The interviewer then asked did I have any questions about the role. The role I was advised I was not experienced enough for.
The interviewer then started talking about a role that they were creating and would I be interested in that. I asked to send on the specs and the interviewer advised there weren’t any yet and then later asked if I had questions about it. Advised I would need to read the specs and then I can think about questions.
Overall, I felt the interviewer made no effort to prepare for the interview and wasted my time, asked too many questions about my current employer for a job I was advised I was not going to get (competitor research perhaps?) and was asking questions that made no sense during the conversation.
If that’s the caliber of the interviewer I think I dodged a bullet not joining.
