First round is online assessment. After that is a 30-min video interview with some questions targeting business sense and math. Then they invited me to a final round onsite interview, including behavioral questions and quantitative case.

    Entretien de Sr Manager Marketing/Sales

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience négative
    Entretien dificile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé via une recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à Wayfair.

    Entretien

It was one of the worst recruiting experiences I've ever had (the actual position was Sr. Manager, Vertical Sales Strategy).

The whole time, there was no communication (email) from the recruiter, and the whole system was automated.

Here's what happened: After a week from getting an employee referral and applying online, I get an automated email to schedule an interview with the recruiter. (a calendly -like system) - which was like 7-8 days after the interview invite.

On the date and time of the interview, I get a call from an unknown private #. My phone has the spam screener on, so I don't get any notification. I got left a voicemail - which basically stated that the recruiter will call me back again within a few minutes, and there was no call back #. I emailed the recruiter right then (about 4 min later than scheduled time) to please provide me with a callback # or a dial in so that I can connect with her. I don't receive any response, and at 5 min mark, I receive a cancellation on my interview with a link to reschedule (another automated system).

Then, I look for rescheduling time (through a calendly-like system), and I find availability after 10 days from then. I reschedule it, and email the recruiter about my availability earlier (requesting the same) and if this time, we can connect on a dial-in. After a few days, I receive another automated email that I have been dinged, and receive a cancellation for my cal invite.

When I reflect back, I realized I am a strong candidate (top tier MBA alum). I was excited by the challenge of ambiguity and enabling the company to have better phone and customer agent support & sales operations processes - unfortunately, never got a chance to connect with hiring manager (my informational chat went great). This was really unfortunate for both me and the hiring manager to have not connected.

Second, the whole time, I was trying to talk to a human, and I received no communication. Everything was super automated. Third, it wasted my time. (time which I will not get back). 2. & 3. make it one of the worst recruiting experience.

I'm posting this review so that in case you start to get a similar experience, please 1) check your incoming call settings - and accept spam calls. 2) don't waste your time with a company HR folks who don't treat candidates as people.

The interviews themselves were fine but I had to repeatedly email HR to schedule my onsite after they advanced me to the final round. The final round is 2 back to back interviews, one case and one behavioral.

There were two interview rounds - one over video call, and the final round in-person at the Boston headquarters. Both rounds included fairly simple case interview questions, while the final round also included behavioral questions.

overall good experience even though I didn't receive an offer, I fumbled my system design interview but the interviewers were very nice and helped me along the way, Would deifnitely recommend spending a good amount of time prepping for that, don't just prep for data structures and algos like I did

I applied to this role on July 16th. I received a codility round within a week which I completed in the same week. Received the interview email from the recruiter in the same week and set up an initial call two weeks later as her schedule was already full. Just one day before the call, the HR cancels the interview stating that they already filled the position. I felt so betrayed because I did not even get a chance to interview for this role.

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien à Wayfair en juillet 2020.

    Entretien

Responded to a job posting by uploading my resume and cover letter first. Received an email inviting me to take an online assessment with about 200 personality questions where you click how closely you agree or disagree with statements. Typical "I don't mind being interrupted during a task," or, "I prefer to work in a team environment," stuff. The email also had a link to a typing test. You had to retype a prompt with a Wayfair customer service script of just a few sentences. You took the test twice and only your best score was submitted.

From there, I received an email from a recruiter to set up a preliminary interview. They use a system that lets you select a few dates and times that work for you and the recruiter selects one. This was a phone-only interview. The recruiter gives you the salary, benefits, scheduling, and other information to make sure you are interested. They asked a few basic questions like why I wanted to work for Wayfair and asked me to briefly describe my work history. Before ending the call, I was asked to book an interview with a manager. An email was sent to schedule a virtual video interview using Google Meet. I also had to submit screenshots of my Internet speed using ethernet-only during specified hours, which is required for the job.

I interviewed with the manager and we spent about an hour together. The first half was going over the virtual aspect of the job and the attendance policy, since it is a bit different than an in-person office job. The second half was answering situation-based questions from my past jobs. The manager specified that they use the STAR method - situation, task, action, result. They want to hear examples of situations you have actually been in, not what you would hypothetically do if you found yourself in the given situation.

The manager said I would hear back in 24-48 hours, but the recruiter called me back in an hour to offer me the next step. I had to select my schedule and submit my background check information.
