Entretien
- VMware Specifically asked me to call the interviewer for my own technical round( none of the company asked me or anyone to do that , a billion dollar company asks a "jobless" former Vmware candidate to call them on international number which isn't toll-free)
- There was a disconnected between me and interviewer the entire call, it was one-way communication
- Call didn't happen in meeting room or quiet room, so i end up asking was I clear and thought the call disconnected most of the times
- Yeah as you guessed it right, they said "You are not selected" and there was no way I could give my feedback.
- Job is no longer available the day I was rejected, seemed like they took that round just because they said they will take it but the position was already filled!
- When spoken this to HR she mentions that the interviewer wasn't even in interview panel, strange! Then why was I interviewed in the first place, it is emotionally draining! Even the candidate's time is precious.
This is not what I thought about VMware, VMware dropped its standards!
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Basic questions of VMware, it seemed like they took that round for namesake
1. Recruiter call 2. First round with hiring manager 3. Second round with director and a member of another team The interview process was concise and efficient. VMware talent team kept me in the loop at all times.
Questions d'entretien [2]
Question 1
First interview with the hiring manager - situational/behavioral questions; what challenges I have faced, how I dealt with specific situations, and more Second interview with the director - random questions and one technical question (the director asked to do role play as a TAM member and asked how I'd handle a version update)
The first question of my second interview was more of a statement than a question. The director shared his concern about my cultural fit because of my background (from the US) and asked me how I would overcome the cultural difference. I felt the first question revealed how he judged me before the interview, and it was tough trying to turn the table.

Applied via VMware Careers webpage and got a reply from Talent Acquisition person in 1 business week.
In the job description, only English was required (apart from technical skills) and I was asked if I speak the local language fluently.
Unfortunately, I recently moved from another country and that was a reason for rejection.
To recap:
> Don't mention the local language in the job description
> Job description itself in English (obviously)
>> Require the potential candidate to be fluent in local language by default
