A recruiter from VMware reached out to me on LinkedIn. A zoom interview was setup and the discussion went pretty well. More around my experience so far and walkthrough of portfolio.
Then the recruiter responded back with a design case study/assignment which I had to work on and send back. I did the same, spending a good amount of time in working out the solutions.
The recruiter never got back! With repeated follow up emails and notes on LinkedIn, he was not responding anywhere.
If a candidate did not go through at a certain stage, you could very well communicate the same!
You could very well tell the candidate that you did not find her/his candidature worth pursuing beyond this point!
Never expected such poor HR practices from VMware!

The process was all fine till the final interview with the head of the team. The person seemed to be in a hurry and not in a mood to listen to anything i had to explain or talk about my portfolio.

Entretien
A phone call with a recruiter to discuss the role and answer some questions, then a video call with the hiring manager, and then a virtual half-day meeting with team members and managers. I also had to do a portfolio review of 1 to 2 projects and a design challenge.
VMware recruiting seemed disorganized. At first they auto-rejected my application, then the recruiter became very persistent that I should schedule an interview. I finally agreed, however they wanted me to skip several steps and go right to a portfolio walkthrough. At this point, I didn't have any idea what the product was or what they even needed from someone in this position. I asked for a meeting with the Design manager and after that I scheduled a walkthrough with two designers on the team.
I had the impression that the designers were pressed for time and not very interested. I was informed they only had 45 minutes instead of the hour scheduled which felt rushed without notice.
