J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Uline (Dallas, TX) en mai 2024

      Entretien

This was my first time interviewing with this company and I was excited about the opportunity. The interview process was a little more involved than most places I've interviewed with in the past. Step 1: You are given a link to access Workday via internet and complete a few assessments i.e. one that was numbers related, one for writing competency and one that was specifically for salespeople, which is odd considering the role I was applying for. Step 2; You are asked to show up in person if you pass step 1 and they ask you to fill out a paper application, even if you have already been asked to show up and interview through a Recruiter. I was working through a recruiter and had already submitted all of my details and work history. While here you are also going to be led into a room with other people and you will take a couple of more assessments related to number sequencing. After the assessments on site I met with an HR Rep. and spent about 30 minutes or so answering typical questions which then concluded interview 1. I was informed a day or two later that I was going to be asked to return for a 2nd interview. I was contacted to schedule the 2nd interview but not given much notice. Since I have another job it is a bit difficult to just take another day off and drive an hour away for a 30 minute interview. the HR Rep on the phone and I were able to find a day 3 weeks out eventually that met both of our needs. I tried to explain that I was currently employed and it would be difficult for me to get away at a moments notice. Uline seems to prefer to conduct all interviews in person and virtual interviews weren't mentioned as an option. Step 3: I arrived for the next line of interviews and after sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes I was finally greeted. I got the impression that the interviewer was not expecting to meet with me and I also felt a bit rushed by the interviewer as if they were not expecting to meet with me. This portion of the interview was a walk through the facility with what I was told was the Warehouse Mgr. It seemed to go well and we walked and talked with minimally invasive questions. After almost an hour I was informed that someone else was going to meet with me shortly. I didnt mind, although, it was a bit surprising since no mention was made previously. I then met with who I believed was the leader of the hiring manager. Again, we seemed to hit it off well enough and I was then asked to return for another round of interviews in the near future. Step 4: I was able to schedule myself out a week or so in the future although another day off of my current job would be required. Oh well, they must be pretty interested if they keep calling me back, right? After driving another 1.5 hrs to make the interview I was escorted into a room and had a virtual interview with 2 corporate individuals. No big deal I guess, they must be interested, right? The two individuals interviewing me failed to introduce themselves and jumped right into the questioning until I asked if they can tell me a bit about themselves. These were not entry level employees and more like senior level leaders which somewhat surprised me that interview etiquette was not present. After 30 minutes of reasonable questions from both sides of the interview the folks online hung up with no further instructions for me. I ended up sitting in the room for about 15 minutes staring into the camera waiting for someone else to come in and perhaps guide me to the next steps. I finally got up and tried to walk around to find someone but was unsuccessful so I sat and waited a bit longer. Finally the HR Rep who originally brought me into the room showed up and asked me what I'm still doing there, as if I was just passing time. He also asked me if the interviewers online gave me any directions to which I answered no. He then proceeded to tell me that they would get back to me in about a week or so. I was a little flabbergasted as I had just driven 1.5 hrs to get on a video call for 30 minutes after using PTO time from my current job and then sitting in a room in front of a camera looking at myself for 15 minutes or so, only to be questioned why I was still sitting there. Needless to say I was no longer excited about the opportunity to potentially work for this company as I felt they weren't too concerned with impressing a potential candidate or attracting top talent. I'd like to think this is not how a company of this size conducts business but there were a few red flags there throughout this process. A few days later I did receive an e mail thanking me for going through the process but I would not be moving to the next steps. Not certain how many more steps there could have been but I had already, in my mind, resigned myself to the fact that I was not interested in going to anymore steps after this treatment. Personal time of current employees or potential talent is not very important to these folks. I never did get to meet hiring mgr.
