very mixed and weird.
I interviewed first for one role. the interviewer, who was a hiring manager gave me feedback at the end of the interview, which was things like "don't look away from the camera".
then i received an email notification (automated) from their ATS that I had applied for another role, on an adjacent team, but I hadn't applied for anything. i called the recruiter, who said that he had submitted me for the other role. this was a good thing however he'd never told me or reached out to me and the way i found out was through an automated email.
in the meantime i was interviewing for other roles, and because the hiring manager (HM) interview for role #2 was taking some time to get scheduled i let the recruiter know i was in process with others and he just said oh well let us know if you get an offer and we'll cancel the interview. No "ok let me see what i can do," just like a " ok whatever".
i met with the HM for that role, and was successful and moved on to the final panel with the team.
i waited about four weeks to get an answer, and I would once a week check in with the recruiter. i called and got an answer and he said the role headcount had been moved to india (whereas I had interviewed for an APAC/Sydney based role). nothing I could do about that. about three months later, the role is now filled locally in the original location, sydney. so either they lied or something changed.
the male recruiter had an arrogant attitude, and there was a lack of transparency. i dont need feedback - sometimes you are just not a fit - but something weird was going on with the role being "moved" to india and then filled at the original located
