      I applied via LinkedIn and was surprised to get a message from a recruiter. The role was listed as hybrid and while I am currently not within the area, I decided to shoot my shot and fish around. Previous experience (not with RH) told me that there's always a possibility the organization will consider a remote candidate and/or at least interview someone who is willing to relocate, etc. (which was something I was open to doing for the right position). Recruiter asked if I was going to move to the area ASAP and I replied that no, I was not moving until I had an offer. I assumed that would be the end of it, but the recruiter asked me to chat. It was a phone call that really should have remained an email. It appears that the job posting was deliberately very vague and upon actually speaking with the recruiter, it seemed like a genuine fit as I did have specific experience the client was looking for. But, I confirmed again that I would not move until I had an offer and the recruiter said that the job was hybrid and would require at least some in-person work. It was disappointing to see that remote/video interviewing was apparently not an option here and that again, everything I was told in this call could have been conveyed in the email. I would urge that the job post at least detail that a candidate must reside in the area to be considered at all.
