      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez RBC en mai 2025

      Entretien

Fist stage was an OA which was codesignal with 4 questions. the 4 questions were based on arrays, strings and hash maps(for the version of the assessment i got anyways). It was difficult for me as I did not have the chance to practice leetcode before the OA, but as long as you regularly practice leetcode you should be fine. Second stage was the interview, which was supposed to last 30 mintues but for me lasted about 55 minutes. I honestly did not like the interview process. out of the three engineers it was just 1 of them that were asking me all the questions and the other two werent saying anything. None of them also turned their cameras on which I found a bit weird but didnt say anything. It was more of an interrogation in my opinion and It was not enjoyable. I was told to open my notes app to code a question which was also really weird(not an IDE) so i inevitably made a few errors and they gave me about 5 minutes to code the question as well at the ending. I was not given a chance to ask them questions at the end either(which i understand was fair because we were way over time) but It was quite a perculiar experience. I wished they were a bit more professional and welcoming because it felt like they did not really beleive what I was saying(hence why I used the word interrogation lol) and that was the first interview I had where none of the interviewers turnon on their cameras haha. and yeah overall it was quite difficult for a co-op interview. Remember to stay confident even if you feel like its not going well(in my case i was holding tears lol) and at the end of the interview before they left i still made sure to emphasize that i am a fast learner, have experience with autoamtion tools/frameworks and would be a valuable asset to the team if given the opportunity and thanked them for their time! and I could tell they were not expecting me to say that because they complimented on how i led the interview with confidence at the end! so have confidence as much as you can! They know you are a student and you are there to learn :)

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

-Introduce yourself(the only behavioural i got, I didnt get any situationals after this either, after this question it was all technical) -why did you use this pytest framework and not robot framework in your project? -how many automation framworks are you familiar with -if you were a QE and a developer gave you a fake page what would you do? how will you test it? -how do you run individual tests in maven? -why and how did you use selenium in this project? -what are linked hashmaps(this one tripped me up a bit lol cuz we were only taught hashmaps in out data structures class) -what is recursion? -between java and python which are you more comfortable with -write a factorial recursive function in java -if you had a word, write code to return the letters that are not duplicates(e.g a word like "google" your code should return only "l" and "e"(non-duplicates)) in python. -basically explained my personal projects to them and then they asked me followups plus (basically everything ive listed above)
