J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Paycom (Houston, TX) en août 2025
Entretien
I want to share some feedback from my interview process. My recruiter was excellent—professional, communicative, and supportive throughout. Unfortunately, my interactions with the local team painted a very different picture.
From the very first in-person conversation, I was told that to succeed in the role I would need to “sacrifice my family” and that future children would need to take a backseat to the job. That was a major red flag for me, as I believe in working hard and being dedicated, but not at the expense of family.
Another issue was the overall team culture. During my visit, I overheard employees openly speaking negatively about their colleagues, which gave me real concerns about professionalism and team dynamics. On a separate occasion, a manager even criticized their own team members during my interview process—something I found inappropriate and concerning in terms of leadership.
The interview structure also left me frustrated. After being encouraged that my prep work was solid, I was later told my presentation “did not do it for them.” Even so, I was asked to continue the process, including spending over three hours setting up multiple meetings—only to find out afterward that the presentation had already disqualified me. This left me feeling like my time and effort weren’t respected.
While I understand I wasn’t selected for the role (an outcome I respect), what I cannot respect is the lack of professionalism, mixed signals, and disregard for a candidate’s time. The process did not reflect the values I would expect from a company of this size and reputation.
I’m sharing this so future candidates know what to expect and so the company has the opportunity to improve the interview experience.

Very straightforward. They did a phonescreen call. And asked basic questions and then set you up with another interviewer. The questions were not that hard. They were very in line with the job description

Multiple steps, very repetitive in nature, and requires you to come in and showcase you ability to call a list. You must be fully suited up, and if you’re going through the process while also working a job, expect for them to require you to interview multiple times in one week
