      Entretien pour Implementation Specialist

      28 mai 2017
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Tampa, FL
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Paycom (Tampa, FL) en mai 2017

      Entretien

A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. She reached out to me and we had a phone interview in which she asked me questions about my background and experience. After a personality test and a timed Math/Reasoning IQ test, I met with both of the hiring managers on webcam. They have a very particular mold they want you to fill, which is why they asked critical thinking questions. The CEO asked me why I didn't have more connections on LinkedIn, so make sure you polish your profile. Connections on LinkedIn don't matter as much to me. The real connections are in your phonebook, so I was really surprised to be asked that. I'm kind of glad I didn't get the job. It seems like a very stressful and controlled environment - it's like they want a robot working for them, someone who just takes orders, not someone who can bring fresh ideas or a new way of thinking. I have also heard they are not very lenient on sick days/holidays/vacation time. Anyway, good luck to those who snagged an interview, personally this interview helped me land my next job, so I feel very neutral about my experience.

We appreciate your interest in Paycom. We evaluate every applicant’s profile against the requirements of the position and standards of the company. As part of the application process, we look at several qualifications: experience, GPA (if applicable), assessment results, completeness or thoroughness of the application and overall work history. You may be confusing Paycom’s CEO with our director of implementation or a regional implementation manager as our CEO does not participate in the interview process. Additionally, Paycom is an innovative company and we invite our employees to share new ideas through surveys and opportunity for improvement submissions. Regarding our “not very lenient” time off policies, our employees receive a combination of PTO, sick leave, personal days and company holidays within their first year to use at their own discretion. Best of luck during your career search.

The interview was simple and straightforward but I was ghosted by the recruiter who did not respond to my attempts to contact him after the interview. Rejecting candidates is part of the job as a recruiter and they should grow up and learn how to deliver a rejection with class.

I applied online and was invited to interview for the role straight away, though the recruiter's earliest availability for a phone screen was a full week+ away (understandable). Where I began to get frustrated, is when my confirmed, scheduled, interview time came, I was completely stood up with no explanation or even attempt at contact. Simply no call or way to get in touch with the recruiter. After about 15min I sent a polite email asking if now was still a good time as well as an invitation to reschedule that would work better, and also called to leave a voicemail for the recruiter through the PayCom main contact number. Close of business that day, I still had received no contact or explanation from the team or organization. (somewhat understandable - people can get busy). Then, about 24 hours from the scheduled call, and still with out any explanation, apology, or even contact from the team, I received an auto-rejection letter. Whaa? Please note I was also fully qualified for this job and looking forward to the opportunity to learn more. That being said, I am shocked and the lack of professionalism in this brief interview process. At least it is clear to me now that this organization is not a place I want to be. Thank you for confirming this so early on!

A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. I had a call with her and while she sounded like she was reading off a script, she let me know how my background could be a potential fit and I moved onto the next round, a 1:1 interview over webcam. THat interview went great, and then shortly after I was scheduled for a third and final webcam interview. This one was a little more difficult, but it ended with the interviewer seeming "shocked" I was applying to this kind of role...when the recruiter had reached out to me originally, and I thought I did great in the second round. Ultimately, after waiting over 2 weeks, I never heard back again. I followed up with the recruiter but still got no reply. I would have just liked a yes or no answer. Being left hanging like that was very disheartening and unprofessional for a seemingly great company up to that point.
