Having been with Microsoft for several years, I was excited about the prospect of relocating and continuing my career within the company in the UAE. However, my recent experience with the recruitment process there was unexpectedly disappointing and has led me to reconsider my future with the company.
Pros:
- The global reputation of Microsoft and the potential for career development within the company.
Cons:
- Lack of Personal Touch:The recruitment process felt impersonal and detached, a stark contrast to the community-focused atmosphere I've experienced in other locations.
- Communication Gap:There was a complete absence of follow-up communications; I received no notification regarding the status of my application, nor was there any indication that I had not been selected.
- Transparency Issues:The process lacked transparency, leaving me in the dark about where I stood or how decisions were made.
- Values Discrepancy: Microsoft espouses values of empathy, honesty, and integrity. Unfortunately, my experience suggests these are not fully embodied in the UAE recruitment process, coming across as shallow rather than sincerely practiced.
Conclusion:
This experience has been eye-opening. It's disheartening to see the gap between the values Microsoft promotes and the reality of their recruitment practices in the UAE. As a result, I've made the difficult decision to explore opportunities outside of Microsoft, in search of an organization where values are not just stated but lived

I personally knew the hiring manager. they were excited about me joining the team, but said they had NO influence in the hiring process. I needed to interview with completely different people in the company (some who didn't understand the needs of the job) and most of whom they didn't know. Despite the hiring manager claiming I was a perfect fit, I didn't even get past the first interview.

Entretien
The interview was straightforward as the role was intended for recent graduates. The interviewer takes in consideration that most candidates are fresh to such interviews. Interviewers gives quite a good amount of time for the candidate to gather his thoughts regarding the question asked and the interview felt very comforting for people who are new to doing interviews.
