I realized Microsoft had finance undergrad internships when they hosted an info session at my school geared towards the business side of Microsoft. I applied online and did an interview in September on the phone with HR. They were very helpful in helping me understand the company, position, and finance roles at Microsoft. I was then flown about a month later. I got to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue for 3 days and 2 nights. Microsoft pays for your travel, hotel, food, and even some tourism expenses! I did 4 interviews total with various finance managers and directors. 3 of the interviews were behavioral with some technical questions sprinkled in like why would Microsoft finance acquisitions rather than use the $130+ billion in cash they currently have or what are some valuation aspects to consider beyond just conventional DCF analysis or comparable company analysis. The final interview was almost entirely technical focused on technology strategy and finance. However, the other interns told me their interviews differed in nature. Most people only had 4 behavioral with 2-3 technical questions sprinkled into each. Ensure that you have a solid understanding of Microsoft's business, emerging businesses, and can really show them why you want to work at Microsoft.

The interview process was good. The interview process is very structured and the interviewer is very prepared. Interviewer will ask mainly focus interview based on resume submitted and past projects.
