The whole process was a bit weird in general I was first contacted in May for a role at Google Hong Kong as Cloud Sales for a specific industry. First the interesting point is that the number I was called was from Mainland China so I nearly didn't pick up. In the first interview round with a female, very typical Hong Kong Manager, you could see that they preferred local people, and my 15+ years of experience in Asia and Jong Kong didn't matter. I had the chance to see the roster for their team, and the only foreigner was an ex-colleague of mine. Anyway, I got declined quite quickly as they claimed my personality didn't match. A few months later, I get contacted again, saying you are exactly what we were looking for haha well process starts again, and I went through several calls and meetings before the real interview with the classic google approach started Sales Presentation, G&L well when it came to the last one GCP which I had 2 weeks to prepare they called me 30min before that they changed the time and Interviewer. So suddenly, instead of the GCP Interview, I had a casual chat tell me about you like in the first days. Again another female Manager that started a few weeks ago at Google and was asked to talk to me. A few days later sorry your personality doesn't fit, and I was declined. Frankly, Google Hong Kong if you are not looking for Foreigners don't contact us, in the beginning, your Team is 99.9% Hong Kong Chinese telling us that you are a diverse company is actually a big joke.
