      Entretien

The interview process was very straight forward and painless in my opinion. Started off with a phone screen with the recruiter that led to the basic screening questions as well as gathering a sense of my background as it relates to the role. After that, I had a phone interview with the team lead who stood in for the hiring manager. That conversation was more focused on my background. The third stage was 2 back to back 30 minute conversations with the account management team that I would be supporting and they both wanted to get a sense of how I support account management and sales teams in general. It was somewhat casual but I got the sense they were mostly assessing if I was someone they could work with and what type of skills I bring to the table. For the fourth round of interviews, I had to do an onsite presentation at Glassdoor that illustrated how I closed a deal using data. I had an Strategic Account Manager, a solutions consultant, and a total of about 4-5 people who dialed in via Zoom. That audience consisted of the Director of the Account Management Team as well the manager of the Solutions Consultant team. I presented for about 45 minutes and that was followed up with 30 minutes of Q&A that covered both the presentation as well as any questions from the audience around my qualifications for the role. After the onsite interview/presentation, I had a follow up chat with the hiring manager, mostly to get to know each other. It was low key and casual. All in all, process was very streamlined and moved relatively fast considering all the people involved. Everyone was very polite and professional. Probably one of the best interview cycles I've ever had.

I had four rounds total consisting of a phone screen, a hiring manager interview, and interview with the team members. These focused on my past experience, transferrable skills, why I was interested in this role, and the hopes to grow the team beyond its current scope. The final round was a 50/60 minute presentation based off of a prompt given to me that was recorded and the entire team attended. I had good conversations with the team and they gave good insight into their goals and challenges, as well as the desired future of what the team could be built up to become. Everyone was open and transparent with their answers to the questions I asked. The recruiter provided good feedback that the team was impressed with each conversation we had and found the experience I had valuable and a good fit for the future of this team. At the end, I was told from the recruiter that I was top candidate, and the hiring managers agreed I would be a great addition to the team and to Glassdoor as a whole. This is on a team that is made up of a large amount of internal transfers at this point. But, ultimately, another internal candidate showed interest and applied for the position was prioritized and offered the position. This was quite a frustrating experience as I was not offered any type of constructive feedback or areas to improve upon and was told I would have gotten the job if not for an internal candidate. I certainly understand finding talent from within and the benefits of doing so. But to have the only feedback from a company that prides itself on transparency be "they were internal so they got the job" was disappointing. In the future if I do apply for another job here, I'd hope the transparency continues through until the end and more in-depth feedback can be provided. I was left feeling quite surprised - especially given the amount of effort asked of me as an external candidates applying to this company. This can lead to pretty negative experiences if these candidates are being strung along long processes and asked to create these lengthly presentations just to lose out to internal candidates at the final step.

Last week I had my second interview with the director. He came late to the meeting , which is ok.... but then he started and ended the interview with reasons why he won’t think I would be a good fit . Then why have me for a second interview ? Clearly I did fine on the first . He asked me no questions that would let me explain my experience even though I have done the same position for 3 years at a much larger company . I wasn’t mad at the end I thought it was funny on how this guy makes decisions . I don’t mind if I’m not qualified, just don’t tell me I did great and ask for a second interview
