Applied online. Within the next day received a call for a phone interview. The phone interview asked questions about my past work experience, how many days I missed work, why I missed work, etc. Was then scheduled to come to the Geico office to complete the next steps in the interview process. Upon arriving, I was placed into a room and took a computer test. The test consisted of typing paragraphs verbatim, and other various typing assignments so that they could get a feel for your typing speed and accuracy. The next step in the process was interviewing one-on-one with the HR manager. Once that was complete, I was then sent into a room, and given a packet to study for 30 minutes. The packet contained information on a Hotel Company, and I was going to have to "role play" as a front desk associate that worked at the Hotel. The packet contained information regarding the hotel, their policies, etc. As soon as the 30 minutes was up, the phone that I was sitting next to started ringing. When I answered, it was a "fake" customer calling, complaining about their stay at the hotel. I also received other calls with "fake" customers regarding questions about the hotel. I was expected to know how to respond to each customer from reading the packet, as it contained all the information I needed to resolve each complaint, and each inquiry. After the role playing was done for the hotel scenario, I was given another packet and another 30 minutes to study. And the same role playing accured again. Once that was done, I was to meet with the Claims Manager, however it was so late in the day, they scheduled me to come back the next day. The following day when I returned, an HR associate walked me up to the claims dept, and I put on a headset and listened to a claims representative take calls, to get a feel for the job. That lasted about 30 minutes. Once that was done, I finally met with the Claims Manager. He interviewed me and asked questions regarding why I wanted to work for Geico, what my strengths were, and to describe myself and 5 adjectives. He then asked if I had any plans for vacation within the next 6 months. *** Make sure you don't have any plans for vacation, or to miss ANY days of work for the next 6 months (if your offered the position) because the training last for 6 months, and any days missed during that time is usually is an automatic termination. I answered no, that I had no vacations planned, and I was offered the position. After the position was offered, I took a drug test (which consisted of them cutting a piece of your hair close to your scalp), and started training a few weeks later. Once you start working at Geico, the first 3 days are whats called "Geico 101". Its a large class with ALL of it's new associates hired (claims, sales, service, etc). During these 3 days, they talk about Geicos history, company policy, sexual harassment, .. pretty much EVERYTHING you'll ever need to know. You also fill out your paperwork for taxes, and insurance (health/dental/vision). The 3 day classes typically where 7-8 hours long. After those 3 days, you begin training with the dept that you were hired in. For claims, you are put into a classroom for 6 months, and learned about the claims dept, how to handle calls, what you can/can't say during calls, learned about policy's, various coverages, etc.. And at the end of each week, you took a test. The final test was for your licenses (because some states are "licensed states", and you legally aren't allowed to assist a caller from that state unless your licensed.) The test was at a different facility (about an hour away), and everyone in the training class took the company van to the facility. It was CRUCIAL that you pass the test .. if you didn't, there were chances that 1) they'll try to work with you and help you study more so that you can eventually take the test again, or 2) terminate you. Once the test is over, you begin working in the claims dept on the phones. ** Also, I've heard that 1 out of 10 people are offered positions. When I came in for the first part of the interview (the typing test), I was in a room with about 10 people.. which means none of them made it to the final interviewing part. So make sure to smile, be confident, and do your best **

It took 1 month all together from 4/16/25 to 5/13/25. Pretty lengthy process. Step 1: 30 min behavioral-situational based assessment. The type of assessment they had me take really didn't have much to do with the actual role which was a tad bit frustrating. Step 2: 30 minute interview. Be prepared to know your job history. The recruiter began by discussing the role, training expectations and she asked some behavioral questions. There are 2 role play scenarios. I know I did well in the interview, I was told by the recruiter she would endorse me to the hiring manager however on 5/13/25, I received a rejection letter 2 weeks after the interview (after being told it would take only 1-3 business days to hear back) which is disappointing considering I was qualified and I interviewed well.

The interview process was extensive to the point of being ludicrous for what the role entails. Thankfully I did not move forward with this position and am now making about TWICE the annual salary I would have made at Geico for a far less stressful job. The most laughable thing about Geico is that they want you to have a bachelor's degree to earn the salary of a middle school dropout. Love yourself. Do not use your 4 year college education to make 22 dollars an hour. I have an associates and am doing far better. Also, hair follicle tests prior to employment? That's a bit much. What a ridiculously demanding company for a pittance of a salary. I strongly feel that this is where lost people go when they don't know what to do with themselves. Again. You can do better.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

I don't recall specific questions, but I do recall a ridiculously long "mock work" assessment over video chat with some recruiter watching my every move in silence. If this is how they expect people to excel, their work environment must be incredibly toxic.
