Entretien pour Auto Damage Adjuster Trainee

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez GEICO en déc. 2014

      Entretien

I applied online and had an email within 5 hours asking to set up a phone interview, which was more of a screen than anything else. Two days later I was in the Regional Office doing an assessment test on a computer with three other people in the rom as well. They excused the other two and then told me I had moved on. The key in the test is not to make any mistakes. You will not finish them. This is to see how you handle it knowing that you are not going to finish, just relax and be accurate but work quickly. Then they check your driving record and such to move you to the next level. The one on one interview was long but pretty standard. There is a lot of "tell me about a time when..." Just be honest and don't try to over sell yourself. They seem to look for confidence and that you are a competent person over someone telling them how great they are and how they will be the best AD Adjuster ever. I asked a lot of questions as well to get more information of the job and training to see if I actually wanted to move on with the process. Don't be afraid to ask questions!! The role play was interesting to say the least. You can't prepare and research it much. Don't get stressed out over the reviews of the process that you read on here. Just relax, pay attention to the directions and keep your cool. The scenario is explained all over this site so I won't go into details about it. They will try to fluster you that is the point of all of this. When it was over I knew I did well as the two gentleman came in and I immediatley started telling them the mistakes I made. One of them was laughing and said "We can run through it again if you want to so you don't make mistakes." We all laughed at that point. The final one on one was similar to the first one. However this time they really were stressing how difficult and how big the commitment of the training is as well as the job itself. It is a lot in three months and some people fail or bail during the process. This was with two Managers BTW. Then they asked me to take a seat in the hall after about an hour so they could discuss if they had anymore questions for me before I left. Two minutes ager one of them came out and said congrats I got the job. I cannot stress enough to be yourself through the whole thing. This job is not for everybody, I came from a shop background as a Service Manager for the last 15 years. It helped in the aspect of the shop mentality during the role play with the repair guy and the customer telling them something was totaled and will not be repaired.

      Question 1

There is a lot of "Tell me about a time when...".

      Question 2

The role play scenario is key. You really can't prepare as there is no time to prepare. Just don't get flustered and ask questions. They are trying to see if you crack under pressure. I made two big process mistakes (writing a check to a customer was one of them) and still passed. The people part of it I handled well, not perfect but well. They clearly know how to pick out what they are looking for by almost this alone. If they like you and you fail this miserably you are out. Keep cool and don't take anything personal. That is the key thing in a job like this.

Good experience with this company and interview process. They asked questions pertaining to past job experience and questions regarding the job itself. The recruiter was nice and friendly, as well.

applied and was asked to do a assessment which was pretty straightforward. Then did a 20 min zoon interview with a recruiter. They explained a little about the job, salary, training and that I would be invited for a 2nd interview with the leadership team. A little strange interview also, they didn't really ask any questions about myself, just asked how many times I've shown up late for work in my past job and why I had a gap in my employment. A few days later I got a automated email that the job had been filled already. Seems just because you are told you made it to the 2nd and final round doesn't mean you will. They seem to hire first come first serve.

I did a zoom interview, which wasn’t the issue. The issue was I felt like there were no questions asked linked directly to the job I was applying for. I’m use to more behavioral based questions and they asked a lot of random filler questions, had me guessing why are they even interviewing me??
