      Entretien

The initial talk with the recruiter was very nice and friendly. What I liked was the email I received after the initial talk with the detailed steps of the whole interview process. It gave me a very good overview of how it goes. The set up of each interview round was also quick and efficient. The first interview session was hands-on, with a coding challenge, which was quite easy to do. I managed to get it done within ~20 mins. Then the two interviewers started asking me some question regarding my approach and why I did it this way and whether I can improve it or can think of an alternative. Tho the questions made sense, but I had this feeling that they are only interested in hearing kind of answer that they already have in their mind, for which they prepared the whole interview question. I tried a few times to go beyond their boundaries but it seemed that they didn't like it or couldn't understand what I mean. There was also another situation, where one of the interviewers insisted that something that I said is not possible and then I opened the developer console and tried it live there and it worked... Then he was like, oh okay! Since I got the challenge done in 20mins and they had no questions more to ask, they wrapped up the interview in 30 mins even tho it was supposed to be around 60 mins. I had the feeling that the whole interview process and questions are written as a script in front of them and they have no creativity/interest to go beyond that or challenge me even more than the their designated level. Almost immediately after the first round, I got the positive feedback and invitation for the 2nd round, which was very nice. This time also two interviewers and one of them the same person from the first interview. This round was all about chatting and asking me about my past experiences, challenges and check whether I can clearly communicate the past projects. Again I had the same feeling about the type of the questions and expected answers. I talked about all the challenging parts of my current and past projects. After the second interview I haven't heard back from them, I sent a follow-up email after a week to the lady from HR and no response! Another week got passed and this time I sent the 2nd follow-up email to HR guy, with whom I initially talk and then, finally after two weeks, he replied and apologized for the delay and informed me that they decided not to move forward. It was mentioned that tho the coding interview went well, the project discussion has raised some concerns. I liked the detailed feedback tho I didn't agree with their reasoning. At the end of the day, as I mentioned, the whole technical interview was very shallow and rigid. You could read from whole dynamic that the interviewers were not really dedicated to find the right person by going above and beyond. As if they just interested in getting the whole process done as soon as possible and put a checkmark next to the interview agenda which is defined for them.
