At first I was really excited about that opportunity, but the more contact with that company, the less enthusiastic I was getting. After the HR screening I was invited to a video interview. So far, so good. That interview, though, was a joke. Both recruiters kept asking the same question over and over again, just re-phrasing it. It was obvious from the questions that the company was a mess, with very low employee morale and engagement. (The reviews posted here by Booking employees seem to confirm it: poor management, favoritism and lack of respect.) They completely misjudged my skills because of focusing exclusively on the examples instead of listening to the main message. The feedback I received after that was complete nonsense, saying that I lacked people management skills. I have more experience in management than both recruiters together, but maybe in a company so poorly managed good management practices I talked about are not valued. And I talked about trust and respect for people, aligning their interests with the company's interests for the benefit of both, promoting employees' self-development and motivating through praise and recognition. I don't know what kind of practices are used in Booking but obviously not the good ones. But that is not the end of the story. One of the recruiters started yawning at some point and made a rude remark at the end of the interview. So unprofessional. What's more, he could not even answer a simple question that I asked. All in all, bad and weird experience.
