Same as many reviews for atlassian interview. They will definitely down levelled you eventhough the feedback of each interview was great. at the end of the process, the result of Hiring Committee will level you down.
Also, the recruiters are “Bait and switch”. the compensation that they said before you started the interview process will be different after you complete a couple of the interviews. And then again they down again the compensation before final interview. And in the end, after completing all the interviews, got down levelled by committee.
I would say this is the worst and lengthy interview I have ever had. not worthy going to the process especially during this winter tech. I would say stay away and thank me later.
As a result, I reject the offer, this is really a red flag.

The interview never happened because of the recruiter. Keep in mind recruiter reached out to me for this job. I did not apply.
The first time around the recruiter never called during the appointment time. I decided to let it go but after a full week the recruiter reached out and apologetically rescheduled the call 2 weeks out.
Second time around recruiter called very late. Didn't remember who I was or which location I was interviewing for (important because recruiter was based in California and I in Ontario).
During the call recruiter made some comments that made me concerned about Atlassian culture
* Experience is not a factor used in determining leveling and suggested maybe I should be considered for a Senior Software Engineer. Why would i put myself through an interview just to downgrade myself to SSE ? I have a job I am not desperate.
* Asked me how many people I manage as a Principal Software Engineer. PSE is an IC role! We don't manage engineers lol!
Generally the recruiter didn't seem to know much about the role she was hiring for and seemed very unprepared for this call. Recruiter ended the call saying we would be starting with the first round of interview soon and then completely ghosted me.
I did not follow up because between this experience all the scary things I read on glassdoors from current or former employees about Atlassian's current culture I had lost the motivation to interview.
I am experienced enough to know that red flags during the interview process often translate into toxic work culture. I just abandoned the process.

It took 74 days, starting in August 2023. After a pleasant conversation with the recruiter, we had our first technical interview, covering data structures. Within two days, I had 100% good comments, and my evaluation score was P60. System design was the next interview, which went well too, and I received P50. In my fourth interview, which was for Code Design, I had the most strangest technical interview experience ever. The interviewer had his camera off and gave me a P40 rating even though I finished the solution in less than an hour.
I agreed when the recruiter said that Atlassian will proceed with the interviews for Senior Software Engineer positions rather than Principal Software Engineer positions.
I went on to have two more interviews. Management and Values. Both went well, and I had fun with both.
The interviewer informed me that, for whatever reason, the Hiring Committee had not approved my application after it was submitted.
I had expected a more professional procedure from Atlassian, and it was a waste of three months of effort.
