I applied through an employee referral. I had a phone screening with the recruiter, followed by a phone interview with a member of the team, followed by the hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager was the most impersonal interview I've ever had, and it was readily apparent that she had a list of questions and wasn't really paying attention to my responses, as she several times asked questions that I had answered previously. Every cliche interview question was asked, and there were no follow-up questions to any of my answers. I then got a form email letting me know that many other candidates were better qualified.
