HRs disrespect your time and you won't hear back from them the moment it goes south.
I was approached by the HR in Bangalore over an email. She didn't bother with any calls to help me understand the role or do the prelim screening.
I was given 2 assignments with no brief to solve them and a 48-hour deadline. All of this, without a word uttered between us on calls. The assignments were not too tough. I was then called by other HR in the team to set up my rounds with the team in Australia.
Well, that was the only time I saw the HR show some encouraging signs and being interested to talk to me. They had assigned multiple rounds of discussions over the next 2 days. Suddenly, the HR asked me to have a round with the hiring manager on the same day. I do so by rushing home early. The interview with the hiring manager was tough. But hey, I did still have the rounds scheduled for the next 2 days. I log in the meeting room the next day and wait for the panel to show up. But guess what? No one turns up. I call the HR and they say that the meeting has been cancelled.
Utterly unprofessional team of HR. Certainly didn't expect this from a company of Atlassian's scale.
P.S: I don't like maligning people. But this needs to reach the ears of the team.
