Interview Process Review - Amazon
The interview process with Amazon was structured and consisted of several phases, all conducted online:
Online Application:
I applied online, and shortly after, I received an invitation to complete an online assessment.
Online Assessment:
The assessment had three parts:
Situational Questions: These were untimed and required me to make decisions as a manager in various scenarios.
Technical/Role-Specific Section: This was timed (60 minutes) but provided more than enough time to approach the questions carefully and thoroughly.
Leadership Principles Section: This was also untimed and focused on Amazon’s Leadership Principles, with multiple-choice answers assessing how my approach aligned with their values.
The entire process was clear, and I appreciated the untimed nature of most sections, which allowed me to focus on providing thoughtful responses. The timed technical section was reasonable and didn’t feel rushed.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
One of the questions in the assessment required analysing a table of monthly performance metrics and identifying which two metrics appeared to be related. The table provided the following data:
Month Calls/Hour CS Score Job Sat. Esc. Res.
1 12,135 88 84 7 86
2 11,557 89 82 9 85
3 13,550 86 88 11 90
4 14,056 94 81 10 83
5 10,552 85 90 13 92
6 11,599 92 92 8 93
The question was: "Which two metrics appear to be related?"
The multiple-choice options were:
Calls per hour and escalations
Escalations and resolutions
Customer service score and escalations
Customer service score and resolutions
Job satisfaction and resolutions
To solve the question, you needed to observe patterns in the table. For example, when Resolutions (Res.) increased, Job Satisfaction (Job Sat.) also tended to rise, suggesting a correlation between these two metrics. This question tested your ability to identify patterns, interpret data, and draw logical conclusions based on numerical evidence.
All virtual. STAR interview questions (situation task action result). Think of examples of tough situations you had to deal with. I think I had 2 or 3 interviews before I got an offer. Pretty smooth process overall.

or an Amazon Level 4 (L4) Area Manager phone interview, you will face 2 to 3 main behavioral questions, alongside a highly possible operational math screening question. Because L4 is typically an entry-level management role (often targeted at recent college graduates or individuals with early-stage leadership experience), the focus shifts heavily toward potential, basic problem-solving, and your ability to lead groups of people
