After 3 months of interviews with some very lovely people I did receive an offer. However, when I would not provide copies of my pay stubs or 1099s they rescinded the offer. ADP never provided a justification for this as part of their background check , only repeating "It's our policy." I explained that providing ADP with copies of my client's invoices would betray not only my Nondisclosure Agreement with them but also my integrity. Similarly, only the IRS should be asking for copies of my 1099 forms. Nonetheless the requests for documentation of my compensation continued over the course of a few weeks. Several times I invited ADP to contact any of my clients directly or to speak with my current employer if they needed an employment verification. Since they insisted on an income verification instead, I could not comply and they took back the offer.
