“Making the residents laugh and comfortable is something that is key to me, everyday has its challenges but the more enjoyable parts of my job more than make up for it."
Congratulations Phillipa!
🎉A huge well done to the team at MHA The Homestead! 🎉
"Having an experienced workforce goes a long way in providing stability and consistent quality care, a stable workforce is always a good sign for a home and it's definitely something we use when we are doing our show arounds for new residents and their family members."
“When I applied for the role with MHA, the warmth and feeling I got from visiting MHA Bradbury Grange, one of the homes in Whitstable helped me to decide this is the organisation I want to work for."
“My role is very fulfilling, it's a role that I feel comes naturally to me, and it's not just a job, being a chaplain in MHA is not just about religion, having that support system for staff, residents and their loved ones is first and foremost."
In our final series of a very successful campaign, we spoke with Grace, a senior care assistant at MHA Mapplewell Manor who has been working at the home for seven years after swapping event planning for working in social care, a decision she is very proud of. Look out for another series of our wonderful colleagues aged 30 or below in the summer.
“When I did leave I wasn't completely happy as I never wanted to leave, but in my heart I always knew I wanted to come back, thankfully the position became open and applying for it was a no-brainer, and it's been almost two years since I have been back."
“My commute is around two hours, but I don't mind it as working at the home is worth the distance, I believe my passion for the role outweighs the distance and I genuinely love working at MHA Handsworth."
The home had more than 35 categories from which residents were awarded an OSCAR and to the delight of the residents and their loved ones every resident received an award.
