Today is Thank a Resident and Fellow Day! The Gold Humanism Honor Society established this special day to show appreciation for resident and fellow physicians. Residents and fellows train through graduate medical education, which allows them to develop practice skills in their chosen specialty. These physicians serve as the house staff of our hospitals while gaining in-depth, hands-on experience. They become indispensable resources for patients, families, and the whole medical team. It's a big week at Methodist Midlothian! Hospital leaders and City of Midlothian, Texas - City Hall - Government officials came together to celebrate the hospital's 5th anniversary AND to break ground on an emergency room expansion. The ER is adding 16 new exams rooms and an additional trauma room. This week's celebration was especially meaningful because the hospital opened during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic so we all couldn't get together for that occasion. Happy 5th Anniversary, Methodist Midlothian! 💙
