Nearly eight years ago, on November 29, Paul and Lizette Weinheimer faced the heartbreaking loss of their son, Thomas. In her grief, Lizette found solace and support through Hope Mommies, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping mothers and families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth and infant loss. Determined to transform their pain into purpose, the Weinheimers began supporting families at BSA Health System. Each year, they raise funds to provide "hope boxes" for patients in the BSA Labor and Delivery department. Over the past seven years, they have donated more than 200 of these heartfelt gifts. “A group of our closest friends and family come together to organize the boxes,” Lizette shared. “It’s a day of fellowship and celebrating our beautiful son’s life. Our goal is to offer comfort to families in Amarillo and the surrounding areas during their grief journey. BSA has some of the most wonderful and compassionate nurses on the L&D floor! They do an amazing job of taking care of their moms!”
