A rather unprofessional admin person contacted me to arrange the interview. It was set to meet in a coffee shop but no one showed. A half hour after the appointed time, I managed to contact the mgr who offered to meet another day or have me travel from the coffee shop to the office - not sure I couldn't just come to the office in the first place. I should have gone home as I was already unimpressed with being stood up but I had already invested a few hours in preparation and travel so I went to the office. My interview was rushed since it started over an hour late due. The mgr stopped to take messages more than 3 times - which made me feel like I was infringing though it wasn't my fault that we started late. I fielded the basic textbook sales job interview questions as my resume was being read - seemingly for the 1st time. I asked about the company's recent announcement that it might not survive to the next year - who wants to join a sinking ship? Considering the non-answer that I got, I dont think the question was appreciated. I cant remember the last time I left an interview hoping I didn't get called for a 2nd interview. I was so grossly overqualified for this small time street hustle that I am sure the mgr saw this and eliminated me after I exposed myself about 2 minutes into the interview. The best thing about it is that it showed me how I should not be using my time and effort. This is not for a true sales professional with real corporate dales experience. Perhaps it is better for someone who is just starting out in sales. who hasn't developed a sense of what a real professional sales organization should be.

It’s a long process. It was also super chaotic because they were going through a restructuring at the time (get used to that if you work there), so they actually retracted the offer at the last second (over voicemail), then ghosted me, then offered me the job.

It was straightforward for this position. In learning more about the role, how very head hunter and sort of cut throat in gaining sales, even not in your territory, I didn't believe it wasn't the best fit for me. If you have a connection or relationship with someone in a certain account or industry, even if it may not be assigned to you, then you can take the sale away from the designated account executive. No half or anything. So you could be working, nurturing, and building the relationship and someone can come in and just take it away instead of working together and fostering a more collaborative approach.
As a "bonus" to the interview, they wanted me to make an introduction of a relationship I had with someone in the industry or account that I would potentially sell to and wasn't comfortable fostering that conversation and opted of the interview process.
