J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Zillow en août 2016

      Entretien

Entire process took approx 3-4 weeks. Recruiter phone interview, then a sales manager phone interview. Then a 2-hour office interview (1/2 hr with sales manager via Skype, 1/2 hr with sales VP via Skype, 1 hour with GM in person). The next week I was set up with another phone interview with a HR manager. All interviews went well; cordial and conversational. I provided tons information on myself, the company, the role, and the interviewers' careers specifically. Only 1 person had a standoff-ish vibe, but that changed by the end of the interview. I arrived a half hour early, which happened to be during lunch time. I was able to observe the entire floor, coming and going. And noticed there weren't any people of color, coming or going. Correction: There was one young lady, but she worked at the front desk. About a week after my final interview, I was contacted and told that they went with another candidate (although the position was just re-listed online the day before). I cannot say for certain that race was a deciding factor, but I would bet the bank that the position was filled by someone who fit the "company culture" (ie: a white male). Seems like a good company, as long as you fit their mold, which Is clearly visible in their online photos across their different locations. They are based in Seattle, which is notoriously and statistically the "whitest" region in the country. But I wouldn't expect the same ideals to apply in NYC, the most culturally diverse city in the world. In short, if you resemble Ryan Lochte, apply immediately. If not, don't waste your time.

      Entretien

Interview with 4 managers, difficult, thought provoking questions. Interviewed once, didn't get the job. Second time, months later, got the job. Second time, came more prepared with numerical data and solid responses.

Interviewing with the “Recruiter” was completely contradictory to the interview with managers. The managers could not fully explain the day to day aspects of the job. Answered all questions accordingly however received an generic rejection email. Then when asked for additional feedback from the interview, I was told by the “recruiter” there was nothing he had on file and he would have to circle back. Still has not provided me with any information or feedback. I think I’m this day in age employers should be respectful of applicants. Tell them why so they may grow and be better. Don’t just ghost them because there is no constructive feedback.

Thank you for taking the time to interview with us for the Business Consultant role in our Irvine office, and I apologize your experience was not top-notch. The expectation is that each candidate receives notification of the outcome of an onsite interview via telephone, but our recruiters will also follow up with an email if a live connection was not possible to ensure individuals are not left in the dark, however specific feedback on the ultimate interview decision is not always able to be shared. If you would like to contact me directly to discuss your experience further you can via email at annie@zillowgroup.com. -Annie Rihn
