I applied online on a Sunday. That Wednesday, I got an email request for a phone interview which I scheduled for Friday morning. On Friday I spoke with an HR Recruiter who wanted to discuss each of the positions I'd listed on my resume with dates and job duties. It was a relaxed conversation. The HR recruiter then told me he would forward my application to the hiring manager. The following Monday, I got a call from the Hiring Manager and she had a series of clinical questions to ask. At the end of the 22-minute call, she invited me in for a face-to-face interview with the department supervisor. I scheduled it for the upcoming Thursday. On Thursday, I met with the same Hiring Manager I'd spoken to on Monday and the EAP Manager (by phone due to an injury). The interviewer was personable and easy to understand. Her questions were challenging but appropriately so and I also did a role-play with her. Once it was complete, she invited me to sit with a current EAP Counselor and listen to a call, "If I had time", which I was able to do after signing the requisite confidentiality agreement. At that point, I thought I was done and just waiting for a call to offer the job or let me down easy. The next day, Friday, I received a call from someone's assistant in the national office asking when I could schedule my "clinical interview with the National Clinical Director of EAP". I let her know that I was unaware of the interview but scheduled it for the upcoming Monday. On Monday, I had an 1-hour long clinical phone interview with a pleasant woman who explained all the steps and instructions before asking for my answers to each clinical scenario, challenging but no role-plays. On Tuesday, the original HR recruiter called to ask if I was still interested and whether I'd accepted another position. I stated I was still interested and we discussed salary. He explained he would submit the offer we discussed for approval and to consider our conversation a "pre-offer". The next day, Wednesday, he called with a formal offer and I accepted.

I applied online and got a request for a phone interview 2-3 days letter. The phone interview went well and I was told my application would be forwarded to their local office for review. An hour after my phone interview I got a call from the local office saying the position I had applied for had been filled but they had the exact same position available, however the hours for that would be 12:30pm-9:30pm. I was a little thrown off because 1. I had just had my phone interview an hour before....they filled the position within the hour? 2. The EAP position I applied for had typical business hours of 9-6pm. It felt like a bait and switch and it felt like the hours were always 12:30pm-9:30pm and they put "9-6pm" to get people to apply. I said I would think about it, but hung up from the call really thrown off. It felt sketchy. I then got another call from the local office a few days later saying they "moved things around" and the position and hours I had originally applied for "got approved." It still felt strange to me, because I was told it was already filled, but I accepted an in person interview anyway. The interview was pretty standard for a counseling position (theoretical orientation questions, name a time you succeeded/failed, how do you relate to clients), ect. Then we had a mock counseling session with what a typical client call might look like. I was then told I would hear back soon. I guess I should have specified what "soon" meant as 3 weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. I had completely put the experience behind me and then I get a call from their headquarters almost a month after the interview saying the position had been filled but I could "keep my eye open for other opportunities as we are constantly hiring." The whole experience felt strange from the beginning and the lack of organization & communication didn't give a good impression of the company. I'm sure they do great work, but switching the hours around, then not hearing back for almost a month didn't feel right to me.

      Question 1

Name a time where you were successful at something? When have you failed and what did you learn from the experience? Do you have experience working with clients with domestic violence? What would you say to someone who was in a violent relationship?

Applied online(April 2016, 1 month to receive an email requesting an in person interview. Interviewed (June 2016) with 2 supervisors, applied for day position but was interviewed for evening position. They were looking for someone with an open availability that could work any shift. They stated that after the first 3 weeks of training that a schedule was given based on labor/workforce needs. Was originally told that I would shadow a current employee after the interview but was not offered the opportunity to after interview. My guess is due to my inability to work after 530pm also discussed working one Saturday a month. Felt good about interview but never heard a definitive no.
