J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez The Home Depot (Atlanta, GA) en mars 2017
Entretien
I was contacted by a recruiter initially and spoke with them over the phone to discuss the position and my general background. Once I passed the recruiter's review, I spoke on the phone with the open position's manager. We went over my background more in depth as it related to the job and discussed everything that the job would entail. Finally, I was invited to the corporate office in Atlanta for an in-person interview. I met first with the manager, then a group interview with the team I would be working with, and finally with the VP over the team and position. The interviews with the manager and team went really well. I felt very confident that I would secure the position until I met the VP. He seemed less interested in my several years of work experience as it related to the job, and more interested in the fact that my 3 undergraduate degrees were not in supply chain or logistics. Additionally, the entire team was made up of men, and while the team meeting went well and I jived with them all, I got the feeling that the VP didn't think a young woman was suited for the position. He specifically told me that the other candidate they were considering was a guy. Not sure why the gender would matter to me here or in any other circumstance. I got a call a day or two after the in-person interview from the recruiter to tell me that I did not get the position. The recruiter let me know that while the team and manager liked me and thought I would do well, the VP thought that I didn't have enough passion for logistics because of my degrees.
