J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Spotify (San Francisco, CA) en oct. 2022
Entretien
Recruiter reach out on LinkedIn followed by technical screen (coding in python and SQL and questions on A/B testing) followed by Hiring Manager call.
The recruiter was professional and friendly - followed up quickly after every conversation.
The tech round interviewer was honest (on questions like layoffs, stress at Spotify, and other hard questions) and friendly and someone who'd be nice to work with.
The hiring manager was highly inexperienced and didn't understand basic data science concepts like Linear Regression models and their results interpretation which was super surprising as that wasn't what I expected from someone at Spotify. The conversation with her was very frustrating as she was exactly the kind of person you'd never want to work with, let alone have her as a manager. To top of her lack of DS/ ML/ stats knowledge, she also seemed very disinterested throughout the call and literally asked my name 5 minutes into the interview. It was shocking to see such people actually work and manage DS teams at Spotify. Highly disappointed.

Question 1
Product related metrics scenarios, it is consistent with most companies with product data science teams
Fairly standard, recruiter screen, take home assignment with a presentation and analysis then final round with a presentation of your take home to an audience (virtual due to the pandemic). I had a follow up afterwards with the hiring manager as well.
Initial HR Screen followed by call with Hiring Manager. I failed out after the hiring manager call. HR was at least nice enough to get back to me soon after to let me know they were moving forward with other candidates.
