MOST DISORGANISED INTERVIEW EVER!!!!!!!
These people has no idea what they are interviewing you for!!!
A London based recruiter from Spotify reached out to me on LinkedIn for one of the engineering position. After having a discussion which team I would be fit for , she sent me a link to apply for a Data Engineering position, but I told her right away on the call that I don`t come from a data engineering back , I am a backend software engineer and I would like to apply for a backend engineer role. And she told me even if you apply for DE role, we will interview you for SE as both these roles goes hand in hand at Spotify. So, after my phone interview I was invited for on-site interview and then the recruiter from Boston office took over(she was pretty new- just couple of weeks in) . And then it started again - she started scheduling me for data engineers interview panel and then I had to tell her that I am interviewing for backend software engineer & then after couple of days , she gets back to me saying that-" we have had your profile evaluated from hiring manager & we think you would be a better fit for backend engineer" and then told me we will interview you for backend software engineer and I agreed and went ahead for the interview.
My onsite interview went really good. I solved all coding problems in most optimized way and design a pretty stable system design as well(my interviewer told me - "you can expect this to be the perfect solution" . My interview was a standard software engineering interviews and there was no part of data engineering interview.
BUT, now after couple of days recruiter gets back to me saying -" we cannot make you an offer as we need more data engineering experience" & couldn't be more angry now as I had communicated this 1000 times that I am NOT interviewing as data engineer.
I failed to understand - how can they reject me, given they interviewed me for SE position.
In the interview you judged me as a SE and rejected me saying you don't have DE experience.
I am not angry for getting rejected, but instead they wasted so much of my time. But, now I am happy to not join them as I don't want to work at such a confused workplace instead I got a much better offer than spotify both work and compensation wise.

Was reached out by recruiter after cold apply. Interviewer asked basic questions to know the background as initial screening step, but didnt proceed to next steps after cancelling the scheduled interviews. suspect its bc visa issues

In overall, it was a positive experience. Everybody's nice there. I like every step and challenge.
Everybody was supportive and well informed about the whole interview process which was really long.

Entretien
1) 15min recruiter screening. The recruiter was nice but seem to be in a rush the whole time.
2) 1hr screening with a senior engineer and one person shadowing. The question was pretty easy and dealt with implementing a cache using a language of your choice. The interviewer was super nice and pleasant to work with. He seemed to know a lot and care about D&I.
2 weeks later I asked for a follow up and the recruiter told me the position was closed. Bruh. A waste of my time.

And a bunch of general questions regarding CS concepts that you either know it or don't. (It won't be hard if you have a CS degree or experience with SWE),
