      Entretien

      I have several friends who work for Slalom, and it's a great company to work for. The hiring process for the Chicago office, however, does not match up to the rest of the company's reputation. Communication and follow up from the internal HR point of contact was extremely poor. Usually consulting firms are more high-touch and more proactive, so I expected better from Slalom. Slalom's HR rep, however, seemed lackadaisical with communication and scheduling. Despite coming in as an employee referral, weeks went by between each interview. An interview was tentatively scheduled, but HR did not reach out to confirm yes/no. When I arrived for one of the interviews, there was a big mix-up about which floor to go to, who was meeting me, etc. The interviews themselves were relaxed but also seemed to lack focus. The poor communication and low-touch experience leaves me not only turned off from applying again, but would also factor into my decisions as an executive who is often in the position to select a consulting firm. Please remember: All senior-level candidates are potential future buyers of consulting services.

      4 rounds of interviews. Very casual. They asked about my background and my goals. I was given time to ask questions about the firm, as well. Everyone was very friendly and inviting.
