Well I applied online and spent about 30 minutes taking a 'personailty assesment" and entering all my previous employer information. At the end, it offered me the ability to schedule my own interview. I scheduled it for a few days later. I received a confirmation email the same day. Searching onilne, I found some people had problems with this process so I called two days in advance to the exact store to confirm my interview. The current HR person said the salaried position had been filled the day before and if I was interested in an hourly/commissioned cashier position. What a waste of time applying! I feel Sears does not respect people's time or effort with this process. I would have wasted my day and nerves driving out there to interview to hear there wasn't even a position. Poor system.

The interview process was very thorough. There was the typical interview questions. Tell me about your greatest success. Tell me about your greatest challenge. Why do you want to work for this company.

Entretien
I was screened by a recruiter over the telephone and interviewed by the Regional Human Resources Director and General Manager of the site. I waited three weeks before I received an offer.

They were situational/behavioral based questions focused on the ability to influence and team and change bad behaviors and broken processes.

Phone interview (basic screen: pay, schedule, expectations)...on site with panel of business partners...(behavior based questions )... Some probing by area of interest relative to each partner....interview with hiring manager....drug screen and background check required.
