I initially had a phone screen with a friendly internal recruiter. A few days after that he let me know that they'd like to bring me into the office. On the day of the interview the location was changed at the last minute. My first meeting was with another more senior internal recruiter and she repeated almost all of the questions from my first conversation. The interviewer was not nearly as friendly and parts felt a little pushy/tense. I didn't really see the point of going through 2 recruiting screens, it's not something I've encountered before.
After this I was supposed to meet with the hiring manager and after I waited for 15+ minutes in the lobby I was informed that he was in a meeting that had run late and they would be in touch to have me come in the following week. Almost 2 weeks later I was called and told that they filled the role internally.
I think it's a pretty bad candidate experience to have an interview cancelled after someone is already in the office. I understand things come up but they should have had me meet with someone else instead, especially since they knew I had taken an hour plus train ride to come into the city.

Multiple rounds of interviews. I interviewed with people, big and small. Some people were nice. Others were less nice. But, they were all people. Deep down, it's the one thing binding all of us together.

What a horrible experience!!! First the application process is outdated and broken - leaving you wondering if you actually applied. Then you don’t hear anything. Months pass. The hiring manager finds you on LinkedIn, not knowing you applied months ago for the job. You both have a great connection and conversation, then proceed to meet the rest of the hiring team. More great connections established and more words of “you would be great on this team” and “we need exactly what you offer” and much more words of positive confirmation. Then they tell you, you have to do an assessment and it’s not pass or fail and more about critical thinking and mathematics, so don’t worry but it is required for all Director+ roles by the board. They heavily emphasized the assessments are nothing and not to worry. Then after 8 hours in one week of interviews and assessments, ghosted for 2 weeks and then the standard rejection letter. When asked for feedback, ghosted again. No regards to peoples time or care about the candidate experience. What a waste of time!

The interview process is lengthy and comprehensive. Be prepared to meet with a lot of smart people. It may take a long time, but it's worth it in the end.
