The process began with an online application followed by another online test typical of Graduate Programmes. The feedback from the test was prompt after which you get an invite to the assessment centre if successful. You are supposedly allowed to pick an available date for the assessment centre but during my time the only available date was the first week in December. You get a brief on the exercises to expect on the assessment day which include: Personal Interview, Written 'Essay', Presentation on a pre-informed topic and a group task. The assessment centre went very okay even though I was quite disappointed that for a program that lasted about 6 hours, no lunch provision was made but maybe it was just an excessive expectation from me. Not sure how UK companies run these things.
We were promised a feedback on our performance within 3 days and we were specifically promised a one on one feedback on our performance this is probably the reason I am giving the process a thumbs down. Firstly the initial fail or pass feedback came in about 24 hours late but no I am not petty lol that is very understandable.. But then this is about 2 months post that assessment and I am yet to get the detailed feedback. Having done some recruitment in the past, I understand how tiring that feedback process can be, which is why I'd rather prefer an employer does not make promises to give it when it may be difficult to meet that promise. I must have sent about 4 email reminders to that effect but I guess life moved on.
For me that feedback was my most anticipated moment from the session. Being an International student with limited UK recruitment experiences, it was my first and I was sincerely looking forward to learning from it. However, The Rolls-Royce office in Derby is a magnificent building and the staff smiled often...guess they are nice.

After successfully completed the online assessment, I got an interview with Rolls-Royce. The whole process was very straightforward. It didn't take too much time. The manager was really nice and friendly. Had a good conversation about what contribution could I bring to the organisation in the future.
